MARKETING TEAM SEEKS RESIDENT PSYCHOLOGIST...

Event Date: Tuesday 3rd October 2017

Location: Le Meridien, Piccadilly

Time: 6.30pm - 8.30pm, followed by networking drinks

A degree in Psychology may not regularly be deemed a minimum requirement for a marketing manager at a hotel or group, but recruiters might just need to reconsider the job spec based on the current online arena. Even the largest hotel chains are failing to go toe to toe with the OTAs when it comes to search engine rankings and paid search capabilities. But then getting a shopper onto your site is just the beginning. Once you've got them in, how capable is your ecommerce to play to the psychologies of deal hunters and thrill seekers, let alone different demographics and geo-sources.

Come and hear from a panel of industry specialists as they examine who is doing it best and what hope is there for those without a Ph.D. in Psychology from Cambridge.

Brian Reeves is a serial entrepreneur. Winner of 4 Deloitte Fast 50 Tech awards. Shortlisted for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Founder of Avvio and GOPPAR Digital. Passionate about data driven pricing, marketing and distribution for hotels.

Dan Baker is the Head of Online Leisure for Flight Centre Europe and the General Manager of StudentUniverse, the leading resource for student travel discounts. He joined StudentUniverse in 2013 to launch the brand into the UK. Since then, Dan has managed the business through it’s acquisition by the Flight Centre Travel Group and transitioned role into online ownership for Flight Centre’s retail divisions.
