Hotel Marketing Awards 2021

Update from Petra Clayton, Chair: 14th June 2021

Hotel Marketing Awards – Postponed

Following the recent government announcement yesterday, confirming a delay in moving to step 4 of reopening, we have spent time today liaising with the venue and our committee to confirm the best option for the awards ceremony to ensure your safety and well-deserved enjoyment.

Under the guidelines for step 3 the awards will be a very different occasion. Despite being eager to push on with the event, the updated restrictions will prevent everyone from being able to enjoy and celebrate the evening, as well as network comfortably and safely as we had planned. We feel this isn’t the way that the event should be run and not the way to celebrate the marketing achievements of everyone shortlisted.

The HMA Hotel Marketing Awards always aims to provide a ceremony that promotes networking and to champion the exceptional efforts and talent that has seen our industry demonstrate so much perseverance and resilience.

Due to numbers and the restrictions it’s impossible to now proceed with the format for the event.

Therefore, after careful consultation and consideration, we have reluctantly made the difficult decision to postpone the award ceremony.

I completely appreciate that everyone who is shortlisted is incredibly disappointed by this news and eager to find out if they have been successful.  We are therefore working very hard to provide an update as soon as possible to avoid any further delay or inconvenience.

I can only apologise that we will be unable to gather together as planned and thank you for your patience and understanding. I will be in touch shortly with an update as we are keen to celebrate with you in the right way as soon as we can.
